Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be played in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, using a net account. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the best assemblage of cards achievable in order to come away with money. On this account it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced enthusiasts are able to choose the most profitable ones every instance.
After the first round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their wins, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
