Video poker is typically played on a machine, which displays the user’s cards on a video screen. Joining pieces of poker and one armed bandits, this form poker is one of the number of games in the gambling den where you might legitimately have a real chance of winning, as opposed to being at mercy of pure luck of slot machines or roulette.
The gambler puts a wager and the video poker machine deals five cards from a normal 52-card deck. The user then has one opportunity to keep or discard any amount of unneeded cards, and is given an equal number of new cards from the pack.
