Video Poker is a favored game that can be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, through a web account. The regulations are very simple and involve the player attempting to get the highest assemblage of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A five card hand will then be "dealt" on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the player has selected which cards he wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are agile enough to pick the most beneficial game each instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
