Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be played in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, through an Internet connection. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the greatest combination of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, apart from the line of contact with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine each instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Additionally, a few styles of the game give the enthusiast a chance to increase their winnings, in which case another game is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
