Video Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos around the world, or in your house on your personal computer, using a web account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards achievable in order to win money. On this account it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A five card hand will then be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and players should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. After the enthusiast has decided on which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making game each and every instance.
Once the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that have been won. Further, some versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
