Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos around the world, or in your house on your home computer, through a web account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "dealt" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced enthusiasts are able to pick the most money-making game every time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their winnings, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
